Aloha, 

As we move forward with our recovery efforts following the Maui wildfires and continued struggles with COVID-19, it is clear that Hawaiʻi’s people and economy continue to work toward a better tomorrow. As we collectively face continued pressure to protect our communities’ health, natural environments, and economies, we remain mindful that we have the potential to alter the course of our communities’ futures. Donations made today will support organizations who do the daily groundwork to support our people. Even a small donation could radically improve someone else’s life tomorrow.  

As dedicated public servants, your unwavering commitment to uplifting the communities we love has been invaluable. During all of the emergencies declared over the course of my administration, you have responded admirably, demonstrating great tenacity under harsh conditions. You’ve provided your financial support, not out of obligation, but out of love for your fellow neighbor. As state workers you are essential. 

Funds contributed by state employees to Aloha United Way (AUW) provide vital services through nonprofits that offer food, shelter, childcare, education, and emergency services that are indispensable to our communities. Your donations fuel systemic change for individuals who have been left behind or under-supported. Every donation through this campaign matters and I am incredibly grateful for your support. 

These last years have certainly been difficult, but watching the people of Hawai‘i come together to address the challenges facing our communities has been a continual source of inspiration. Thank you for moving forward with grace, resilience, and aloha.
